Ana Vieira, MSc, is Head of Flow Cytometry Platform at Champalimaud Foundation since 2017.
Ana is a Biomedical Scientist and obtained her master degree in Oncobiology in Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa. She had the first contact with flow cytometry during the last year of her degree to study the immunophisiology of systemic lupus erythematosus using flow cytometry technology. In 2011 she started has technician at the Flow Cytometry Facility at Instituto de Medicina Molecular (iMM). In this position she provided support and technical advice on flow cytometry to researchers and she also performed purification of cell populations by high speed cell sorting. In order to improve her knowledge in cell separation she attended in 2015 and 2018 the Advanced Training Course in Cell Sorting in Belgium.
She moved to Champalimaud Foundation where she set up the Flow Cytometry Platform and she keeps providing comprehensive training for independent users of analytical instruments, as well as cell sorting.
