André Mozes has a MSc from the University of Algarve in Biomedical Sciences.
Before that, he obtained his bachelor degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences from School of Health (Porto), followed by a one year post-graduated course in Haematology and Immunology, organized by the Coimbra Health School in partnership with the University of Salamanca.
André is a certified International Specialist in Cytometry, SCYM(ASCPi) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification since 2017.
His Flow Cytometry career began in the clinical context in different hospitals, before settling down at the Flow Cytometry Core from the University of Algarve. Here he got the opportunity to work not only with mammalian but also with marine samples, both with their own intrinsic characteristics and challenges.
After 5 years, he moved abroad to join the high-performing team of experienced cytometrists at EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland. During his period at EPFL (6.5 years), he was involved in multiple projects including collaborations with startups and private companies but he was mainly focused in projects involving Extracellular Vesicles and users training courses. He also got the opportunity to present his work in several countries and to be involved in scientific publications.
In 2021, he joined the Champalimaud Foundation as Head of Flow Cytometry Platform.
